
Peter Adriaens
Dr. Adriaens is Professor of Environmental Engineering, Finance and Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan. He co-founded the University of Michigan FinTech Collaboratory and directs the Center and Master of Engineering program in Smart Infrastructure Finance, focused on efficient financing mechanisms for public and private infrastructure assets. His research and teaching focus on digital business, finance and data market models for smart cities infrastructure, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) for sustainable bond and equity pricing. He is a member of the American Academy of Environmental Engineering, and of the Belgian Royal Academy of Applied Sciences and the Arts. Previously, he was Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship at Sichuan University (China) and at the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy (Helsinki, Finland) focused on investment models for green economic transitioning. He is co-founder of Equariusâ Risk Analytics, a financial technology firm focused on integration of climate water risk for corporations, index providers and insurance companies. He has advisory board positions on the $5 bn Great Lakes Impact Investment Platform, Blockchain Triangle, and Integrated Roadways.
